"Amusement Park"
Daniel x Bo
At dawn, the white colt slowly rose from beyond the horizon. The daylight scattered waves of light comparable to the ocean waves upon the sea, covering the coast with a layer of frost-white, gradually advancing, illuminating the first train departing from the station, and enveloping the city that had never turned off its lights.
A swallow leaving its nest spread its wings, flew through the tree shade, and landed on the window sill dappled with tree shadows. The faint light reflected off its white belly feathers, casting a striking glow, but it remained oblivious, merely peering curiously into the window. In a flash, a dark shadow swiftly passed by, and just as it couldn't resist getting a bit closer, the window suddenly opened, and a short cat-like meow was directed at it.
The startled swallow hastily fled, inadvertently leaving a fine feather on the creamy golden soft hair. The boy, who hadn't expected to frighten the little bird so much, stood dumbfounded, blinking slowly. After a while, he walked into the living room with an enormous sense of guilt.
Daniel, who had just changed his clothes, stood in front of the sofa and reached out to pat the boy who was trudging towards him. Seeing that he still looked gloomy, Daniel raised an eyebrow, picked up the feather stuck in his hair, and said, "Aren't we going to the amusement park today? Why do you look like this?"
"Amusement park...?"
Hearing the key words, Bo's eyes, as bright as a lake, widened. He put on his small backpack and held Daniel's large and thick hand. The cat tail that had been drooping now stood up high, leaving all the earlier small incidents behind. "Oh right, we're going to the amusement park! Dan, hurry up, hurry up, if we don't go now, the amusement park will be closed!"
Glancing at the time, Daniel wanted to tell him that the amusement park wouldn't close that early—of course, it wouldn't open that early either—but seeing his boyfriend's expectant expression, he couldn't help but go along with him, following that soft little hand and stepping into the gentle sunlight.
They first had breakfast nearby before entering the children's park filled with balloons and bright music. Daniel had originally wanted to take Bo to a larger place, but this was the only amusement park that suited both their heights.
As soon as they entered, they received shiny stickers, and on top of that, the staff, citing that "the two brothers get along so well," gave Bo an extra cat-shaped lollipop. This added even more energy to Bo, who was already in high spirits from the start. The hand holding Daniel's was swinging back and forth excitedly, and the guide map in his hand was never put down.
Along the way, soft mascots lined the road, greeting everyone who passed by. In the colorful central square, groups of performers sang lively tunes and danced spirited steps, spreading endless joy to people. Colorful ribbons danced with the slowly moving floats, decorating the blue sky and painting the world with a splash of cheerfulness.
The operating amusement rides emitted dazzling light, sprinkling Peter Pan's pixie dust in Bo's eyes. He ran around pulling Daniel everywhere, unknowingly passing on his joyful mood to the other. Seeing the smile appearing on Daniel's face, Bo's eyes curved into a smile, and he had to use quite a bit of effort to suppress his tail that could slip out from under his clothes at any moment.
The sun passed its zenith and slowly moved towards the west. The moon, rising ahead of time, urged on time, painting wave-like colorful clouds between daylight and night, lighting up the streetlamps set up along the streets for the amusement park that was about to come to an end.
Passing by the only streetlamp that hadn't lit up yet, Bo and Daniel boarded the Ferris wheel under the staff's guidance. The slowly rising cabin perfectly eased the emotions of the entire day, isolating all worldly gazes in this small world.
Bo, who was originally by the window, sat in Daniel's arms, leaning back. Feeling the steady rise and fall of his chest and the familiar scent, he closed his eyes, hugged the arms that embraced his waist, and gently rubbed against the other's tense arms.
The soft hair tickled his skin slightly, and Daniel chuckled, pulling down Bo's hat and lowering his head to kiss the slightly trembling cat ears. "How was it? Did you have fun?"
"Mm... very happy," Bo slowly replied, his already childish voice sounding a bit muffled in the sticky ending, "I'm always happy when I'm with Dan."
Hugging the petite boy, Daniel shook his head with a wry smile. Even under the influence of fatigue, Bo was still that sincere and gentle child, and the more he realized this, the more he cared about the difference in their growth times—there were still so many things they hadn't done together.
"Do you want to sleep for a while if you're too tired?"
"Mm... meow wants to..."
"Really?"
After waiting for a while and not hearing a response from the other, Daniel chuckled and adjusted a comfortable position for the boy in his arms.
At this moment, the sunset, like a raging flame, retracted its last ray of light and sank below the horizon, handing the world over to the serene moonlight. The moonlight that slipped into the cabin was hazy, gently falling on the ground, bit by bit, engraving the silhouettes of the two.
Till death do us part.
